The only way to get that information without the overlay is to maybe have a second monitor open with localhost, or running calculations by hand. Is that too much? Does it give an unfair advantage? I can tell you from memory that the optimal climb/sustained turn mach for the crusader is ~.90M, ~.92M for the F-104 family, and. When it comes to triggered alerts, I still have to look up the speeds and optimal profiles, but the way it's presented eases my workload significantly. I should really have that option in-game, but I don't.

Having flown enough in DCS, for jets I think in knots, feet, and nautical miles now. Why the hell can I still not display speed in knots? ffs, it's the international standard. Given how closely linked AoA is to drag (and thus energy bleed), it's really quite important information to have. That's information I should have available.ДЄ lot of the AoA gauges are broken and/or read incorrectly. e.g.:ДЄ lot of fuel amount and/or consumption gauges don't work properly, so the only way to know my actual amount and/or consumption rate is by using the overlay. A lot of the time, it's presenting me with information I should be able to ascertain already, but can't. But giving it systems it didn't have, is that too far? What about a visual cue that I'm at a specific speed? (e.g., corner speed, optimal climb mach, the start of compression.) A reminder to drop/retract flaps?

How about when I have it set up to give me an over-G warning? An AoA beeper? Bingo warnings? Some of the planes would actually have similar systems (like the F-104 stick-shaker and/or stick kicker). Stuff like my speed in knots (like should be an option in the base game), G-load, Mach number (at all speeds), AoA, lbs of fuel left, fuel consumption.all useful information, and available in the cockpit and/or localhost. The real question is, how much of an advantage does it give, and where does the line between 'clever tool' and 'cheats' lie? ( Again, I think this particular program clearly lands in 'cheats' territory)ДЇor example, I use WTRTI to overlay extra information for me in Sim. It's a weird gray area, because in theory you could do the equations yourself, or even plug them into a premade excel spreadsheet or something, which would make the difference mere seconds. Okay, but can we actually talk about how this works for a second? Takes data that's available in-game, processes it, and gives extra information.
